Sky Dive 2004
Firstly I would like to thank everybody who donated money for my sponsored sky dive. I have been grateful and pleasantly reassured by peoples generosity and good will, and to 1 or 2, yes the parachute did open.
In total £ 2,698.00 was collected, I raised £1,353.00 through donations and £1,345.00 the Prison Service Charity Fund donated towards the cause because of the generosity and support I was give from Prison Staff.I did my dive on sunday the 5th December as the weather was too bad on the 4th. I arrived at 8.00am and the day was long as the weather was against me but at 2.15pm I got the call to kit up and the fun began. Those that have been skydiving will understand when I say it was one of the most exciting and exhilarating things I have ever done. For those that have thought about it, and are physically able to do it, I say just one thing, DO IT, you will not regret it. Why not do it to raise money for the TSA, a good cause and the kick of a lifetime what could be better.
I did my dive at Hinton Airfield near Oxford and had a lot of time to wait and watch clouds. But during this time I watched how the staff at Hinton made everybody relaxed and constantly kept the jumpers updated whilst the weather was against them. If you are considering a Sky dive for the TSA I cannot praise Hinton enough, total professionalism in every way. Take a look at their website - www.tandemjump.co.uk - and go for it. Get one of the promotional DVD's and see if you can resist.
Tommy was 5 on the 7th December and he, myself and the TSA want to thank everybody once more for all their efforts, especially Graeme for the website. I'll keep you up dated with the total funds raised.
